You hear the rustle of the grass, feel the breeze, and suddenly in your frame of vision, comes the sight of a magnificent beast. For that one instant, you are completely present in the moment. Gone is your anxiety and stress. All you’re left with, is a glorious sense of wonder – for life and all its possibilities.
Established in 1936, the Jim Corbett National Park offers some of the most mesmerizing jungle safaris. The park is home to 488 different species of plants and 600 species of birds, aside from several species of mammals and reptiles. Yes, the Bengal Tiger still remains the most famous resident. But other fascinating mammals living here include the Rhesus Macaque, Langur, Sambar, Barking Deer, Nilgai, Wild Boar, Asian Elephant, Jackal and Leopard. There are also, of course, some fantastic reptiles such as the Crocodile, Python, King Cobra, Russel Viper and Monitor Lizard.

The park is divided into 5 zones called Bijrani, Jhirna, Dhikala, Durga Devi, and Sitabani. Each zone offers a different sights and experiences. The Bijrani zone is known for its open grasslands and abundant natural beauty. For those who are fond of bird-watching, the Durga Devi zone is an absolute paradise. While the Dhikala Zone is the largest and most varied zone, known to offer the best sightings for exotic fauna.
Each zone of the Jim Corbett Park is best visited during specific seasons. The Dhikala and Durga Devi zone are best explored from 15th November to 15th June. While you can visit the Bijrani zone from 1st October to 30th June.
The Ranger’s Lodge, Ramnagar
