Safari in The Jim Corbett National Park And Tiger Reserve: The Corbett Tiger Reserve is blessed with a great biodiversity of habitat and wildlife giving visitors an excellent chance of close encounters with the tiger, elephant and leopard – as well as the elusive and mysterious Gharial. With over 580 bird species, the reserve is a birdwatcher’s delight. Safaris take place each morning and evening in open Gypsys.
At present, the area open to visitors in Corbett Tiger Reserve has been divided into five mutually exclusive tourism zones, each one has a separate gate/gates for entry. A visitor wishing to go from one zone to another has to exit from the same gate that he entered from and then re-enter the park through the gate designated for the other zone. This precaution has been taken to ensure that there are not to many visitors at one time in the more popular areas.
Nature Walks: Guests can enjoy complimentary guided walks and experience the natural environment of the buffer zone adjoining the reserve on foot. The dedicated, skilled and passionate guides lead you to discover miracles of nature. You have an opportunity to experience wildlife and nature at close quarters at this park.
Bird Watching: Jim Corbett National Park is the Mecca of birdwatchers thanks to its spectacular avifaunal diversity. Over 580 species of resident and migratory birds have been recorded in and around the park. Forty-nine species of diurnal raptors are found here. Additionally, The Great Pied Hornbill, Fishing Eagle, Collared Falconet are some of the endangered species of birds living in the park. The avifaunal diversity is at its peak during the winter. Camp River Wild organizes special bird watching safaris with expert guides.
