Samode Palace

The Samode Palace was built about 475 years ago in the Indo – Saracenic or the Indo-Gothic architecture by the Rawal family of Amer and Jaipur.  The palace is 40 kms north of Jaipur and is known for its Shish Mahal (Hall of Mirrors) and the Durbar Hall, the former for its mirror tiling and the latter for its centuries old frescoes. This palace could be a perfect honeymoon destination if you can afford it. Flowers accompany you everywhere, from the reception to the stairs, to the bath tubs!

The City Palace (Jaipur)- This palace hosts a sprawling museum with a vast array of courtyards, gardens and buildings. The Indo-European architecture of the palace is a treat to the eyes.

The Hawa Mahal- The “Palace of Winds” is a high screen wall originally built so Royal women could observe festivals from inside the palace. The structure built out of red and pink sandstone, is located at the edge of the City Palace.

Sheesh Mahal (hall of mirrors)- Within the grand Amber Fort stands a room with countless mirrors that is world famous. The mirrors are of convex shape and designed with coloured foil and paint which would glitter bright under candlelight at the time it was in use.

Ranthambore National Park- Ranthambore National Park is one of India’s largest and most well known national parks. Its desert-like flatlands are perfect for spotting animals including leopards, nilgai, wild boar, hyena, sloth bears and even the elusive tiger. In fact Ranthambore is considered the best place to spot tigers.

Malik Talao- Although this lake is the smallest of the three in Ranthambore National Park, it has the healthiest population of birds. Indian Marsh Crocodiles and kingfishers are also easily seen from a close distance.

Khandar Fort- Khandar Fort had never been successfully attacked and was truly once considered invincible. Placed strategically at the top of a cliff the fort includes 7 temples. Infact when perched perfectly one can spot the wild animals beyond, even the tiger.
